Message From the Superintendent

Dr. OliverI am excited to begin my eighth year as your Louise  ISD Superintendent of Schools. From the day that I stepped into this district, I have seen so many positive teaching strategies, parent, teacher and student interactions, and teamwork. I believe in public education and I am confident that this district provides a terrific education for the children of Louise.

Our focus will remain on continuous improvement of teaching and learning, school safety, facilities, communication, interaction among all members of the faculty and staff, allocation of resources, and computer and network systems. All of our efforts and resources will support student achievement. I respect and appreciate our teachers as they provide rigorous and relevant instruction in respectful and safe classroom environments. I am committed to working with students, parents, teachers, staff, administrators, Board of Education members, city officials, and all community members who believe in our schools and our students. We will continue to press into our "OWN IT" campaign which encourages personal responsibility for our choices. Collaboratively, we can meet the individual needs of all of our children.

Our schools must be a place of challenge and support. Children need to know we care, we believe in them, and we will listen to them. Our faculty and staff must be ready to partner with our dedicated parents and students, as well as our students who need extra effort and attention. Our most successful students have involved parents who work side by side with our schools. The students with great parental support will probably be successful with less support from us, but the ones with little support and less than respectable homes will need so much more. Our teachers will continue to be ready and willing to give the extra they so desperately need and crave.

It is my honor to serve as your superintendent. I approach this year with excitement as I look forward to the 2022-2023 school year, serving a team that is working diligently to improve STAAR scores and continue to Meet TEA’s rigorous Standards, building strong athletic teams, improving performing artists, developing a strong Ag program and encouraging community volunteerism. It only takes one look into the bright shiny faces of our students to know that we WILL make a difference in the lives of children, one investment at a time.

Sincerely,

Dr. Garth Oliver

Proud and Blessed Superintendent of Louise ISD
