Alyssa M. Patton (formerly Vaclavik) is a Music Educator and performer born and raised in La Grange, TX.
Mrs. Patton holds a Bachelor of Music from Sam Houston State University, and is certified to teach music at all levels. She also holds an Associate of Arts from Blinn College-Brenham. Mrs. Patton’s primary instructors include Deborah Rawlins (Studies in Music for Children), Kathy Daniel (Professor emeritus-Flute), Dr. Brian Gibbs (Wind Bands), Darla McBryde (Conducting & Wind Bands), and Dr. Sarah Burke (Wind Bands).
During her time as an undergraduate, Mrs. Patton has served as a Technician and Assistant Clinician staff at schools of all sizes, including New Waverly HS (2A), Flatonia HS (2A), La Grange HS (4A), and Willis HS (5A 2019 State Marching Participant). She has performed with the Sam Houston State University Symphonic & Concert Bands, the SHSU Flute Choir, the Blinn College Wind Symphony & Concert Bands, the Blinn College Flute Choir, and was sole first part in SHSU’s 2020 performance of Haley Woodrow’s Tapestry for Adaptable Band.
Mrs. Patton is currently a member of the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA), and is an alumni of Tau Beta Sigma National Honorary Band Sorority (TBS). She is also currently a seasonal member of the Crossroads Community Band, based out of Victoria, TX.
Mrs. Patton currently serves as the Elementary Music Teacher and Assistant Band Director for Louise ISD, where she leads General Music classes for Elementary students, and co-teaches band at all instrumental levels. She serves as the director for the Louise Junior High School Band.
Mrs. Patton’s core values and goals for herself and her students pertain to work ethic, independence, integrity, and musicianship. She values teaching the skills that will not only take students to the next level in the music or band room, but also emphasizes the skills that will help them succeed in other fields post high school graduation.
