Louise ISD Scholarship Application
To The Friends Of Louise Independent School District:
We would like this opportunity to give you some information about our Scholarship Program. If you have any questions, please call the school counselor at (979) 648-2202.
Introduction: The Louise Independent School District Scholarship Program is one of the most inclusive of its kind when compared to similar programs in other Class A and AA schools in Texas.
The Scholarship Program is based on the following premises:
Louise High School students who meet all requirements for graduation need to be recognized for their accomplishments.
Louise High School graduates who further their education past high school will increase their chances of becoming productive, tax-paying citizens.
One way to both recognize students accomplishments and to encourage them to further their education is through the awarding of scholarships based on class rank to every Louise High School graduate who wishes to pursue a post-high school course of study.
Individuals, organizations, and businesses from Louise, Wharton County, and surrounding counties who donate to the Scholarship Program benefit by knowing that their money is going to young people who are committed to furthering their education and who in many cases will be available for employment on completion of their training.

The Scholarship Program:
How Does it Work?
Who is eligible?
Any Louise High School student who has met all requirements for graduation and who plans to further his/her education is eligible to apply for the Louise ISD Scholarship Program.
How are the funds allocated?
All eligible students who apply for Scholarship Program funds are awarded scholarships. The amounts are based on class rank with the highest amounts going to the highest ranking students.
(Note: Many students supplement their Louise ISD Scholarship Program funds with need-based funds available through other sources.)
Who allocates the funds?
A scholarship Selection Committee comprised of present Louise ISD personnel is primarily responsible for allocating scholarship funds. However, more and more donors are designating which students are to get their donated money. Donors who do not wish to designate recipients will be notified as to who received their funds.
How do students receive their money?
Individual donors may choose to give students money directly. However, the Scholarship Program funds issued by Louise ISD are sent directly to the institutes of higher learning. These then issue the funds to students upon their enrollment.
