Survey of the American
national and state systems of government.
Topics covered in this course include:
political ideology; the origins and
development of the Constitution of the
United States and the Constitution of Texas;
the principles of federalism and
federal-state-local governmental relations;
the instruments and methods of political
participation; and the various forms of
local government. Meets the legislative
requirements for a course on the
Constitutions of the United States and Texas
for teacher certification. Prerequisite:
TASP reading and writing requirements met. |
