I have been married for 6+ years to Ginny Patek Marek (Yoakum HS, Class of 1981). We have a son, Peter (5 yrs.), and a daughter, Gillian (1 yr.). We have lived in Bastrop for the past 3 years, and we lived in Austin before that. I attended college at WCJC (A.A. 1979), the University of Texas (B.S.Arch.Engr. 1982), and Southwest Texas State University (M.B.A. 1991). I have worked for the State government for nearly 16 years, and currently I am serving as the Director of School Facilities for the Texas Education Agency in Austin. I try to drive by the campus whenever I am in town visiting my parents. My complements to the Board and the Administration on doing such an excellent job improving the facilities.
