Laurel and I returned to Louise in 1977. We wanted to get out of the city
and wanted our children to go to Louise schools. I am now employed by Supreme Contracting
Services, Inc. of Louise designing, drawing, and building custom homes and commercial
buildings. Laurel is the Louise Junior and Senior High School secretary. We are very proud
of our schools. By the way, check the November 2001 issue of theTexas Monthly magazine
concerning our schools. Our daughter Kelly (the oldest) is married to Alan Marek of
Louise, and they have given us four great grandchildrenStephanie, Jacob, Harrison,
and Dawson. Our son Christian is not married, lives in Clear Lake, and is busy framing
houses. We have reared several other children during the last forty years. Ive lost
count. Last summer we adopted four more great, very athletic kids
Andrew, C.J.,
Jessica and James. We also had two foster children (Gabriella and Angelica) who have now
been adopted. We do a lot of wilderness and primitive camping with the kids. In May 2001,
Laurel and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary and we took all our
children camping, canoeing, hiking, and fishing. As you can see, we keep pretty busy. As
George Jones says, "I may be old, but Im not impaired. I dont need no
rockin chair". |

After graduation in 1956, I enlisted in the Air Force. Afer my discharge
in 1960, I went to work for Gulf Oil in Houston. In 1983 Gulf Oil was bought out by
Chevron and I became a Chevron employee. In 1997, after 37 years of employment, I retired
and moved to Charlotte, North Carolina. Wife wanted to take care of the grandson. I now
